Chinmay Pandharipande

Chinmay is one of the founding members of this Collective. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, prior to which, he taught literature and media studies to undergraduate students at the Dept. of Communication Studies at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore, India. Chinmay’s work has been on the methodology of comparative literature, Indian literatures, philosophy of languages, and semiotics. He speaks Marathi, Kannada, Hindi, and English. His current work focuses on theoretical and literary formulations of what is understood to be ‘postcoloniality’.

As on of the founding members of Comparatists in Conversation, Chinmay is looking forward to work towards working with early career researchers and their fundamental assumptions of what literary studies is.
